One can either love or hate this album, there isn't much room for middle ground. I hated it at first, but after a couple of listens, the album began to grow on me like crazy. CanOx is comprised of two rappers, Vast Aire (my personal favorite of the two) and Vordul, and they are as real as it gets. Vast Aire's metaphors resonate with me. He doesn't use flowery prose or generic rhyme schemes.everything is delivered exactly when he wants, how he wants. 
I usually hate the grungy, spaced-out electronic beats that El-P provides, but they end up complimenting the duo's gritty style perfectly. El-P is the man behind the production of The Cold Vein, and for an album released in 2001, it was years ahead of it's time - only a genius could've actually wrangled these spacey, rambling sounds together into actual music (and good music at that).
